Khreshchatyk is the city’s main street, from European Square to Bessarabska Square, with Independence Square at its heart. Above it, Khreshchatyi Park and Mariinskyi Park run along the hills over the Dnipro, joined to Volodymyrska Hill by the footbridge.

Sights

Khreshchatyk and Independence Square, the Ivan Franko theatre, Khreshchatyi Park and the footbridge, Mariinskyi Park.

Eating and drinking

Milk Bar at TSUM and the cafés of the side streets.

Staying

The Upper Town and the boulevards are a short walk away.

Walk the hills, not the traffic.

Our advice: cross the footbridge at sunset for the light on the river.
