Updated November 2026

What a foreigner can buy

Foreign citizens may own apartments, houses and non-agricultural land in the city; under the Land Code of Ukraine, agricultural land cannot pass to foreigners.

The notary and the register

A notary certifies the sale, checks the seller’s title and registers the transfer in the State Register of Real Property Rights. Obtain a Ukrainian taxpayer registration number first.

The questions wartime adds

Ask about the building’s shelter, generator and water, any damage and repairs, whether your insurance covers war risk, and whether martial-law rules affect the sale.

Where people live

See our property guide for Pechersk and Lypky, the Upper Town, Podil and the boulevards. We don’t publish prices or yields.
